Colon Cleansing Remedy
Psyl-Elm consists of two herbal plants: Psyllium and Slippery Elm. Psyllium contains mucilage (gel-forming) that when combined with water, it swells tremendously. A gram of psyllium seed will expand 8-14 times of its volume in water. The enlarged mass is highly gelatinous. Since ancient times, psyllium seed has been used with great effect as intestinal tract cleanser. Researches also shown that psyllium is effective in lowering the total of the cholesterol levels as well as the LDL (“badâ€) cholesterol levels.
Slippery elm has been used as an herbal remedy in North America for centuries. It helps to relieve inflammatory bowel conditions. Slippery elm also causes increase of mucus secretion which protects the gastrointestinal tract against ulcers and excess acidity.
